Abstract

Autistic disorders may co-occur with numerous other dysfunctions and accompany various genetic syndromes. Autism may be a symptom of a severe inborn or acquired disorders. Autistic persons have to cope with many somatic obstacles impeding their day-to-day functioning, including nutritional issues and immune deficiencies. A patient’s somatic condition affects the therapeutic process, but it must not be the reason for abandoning work with a person with autism.
