Abstract
The aim of this article is to present contemporary research and theoretical positions regarding the sexuality of people with disabilities, which clearly shows that adults with intellectual disabilities have sexual needs and are able to lead relatively satisfactory partner and sexual life. The article also highlights the importance of sex education as a priority mission of contemporary special education. The scientific study presents the results of the KEGA No 119UK4/2011 project .
